Being poor doesn't always need to be synonymous or associated to money. I think that it is not the main reason why the Catholic Church opposes the passing of this bill. Maybe they are not just ready to think outside of their boxes. We should respect that but I personally believe that this is the right time for them to be more open-minded. I hope this bill becomes a law and I hope the Catholic Church be more open to other alternatives on how to solve the problem on population and poverty in our country.Jelyn Articunahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09659101038029293592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-778481117315444840.post-23096313459844238022009-01-08T12:14:00.000+08:002009-01-08T12:14:00.000+08:00As a devout Catholic, I normally visit Churches wh...As a devout Catholic, I normally visit Churches when I go out of town. In a Church I visited during the holidays, I read the vision and mission of the Diocese with a phrase "this is the Church of the poor".

I was really disturbed reading the phrase because reading between the lines, it may mean that if there are no more poor Catholics then the church will have no more function because it caters for the poor.

This is maybe one of the reasons why a few Catholic Church leaders oppose the Reproductive Health bill because they would like the poor Catholic to remain poor.Andrew Cesar Rimandohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02564831309676592264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-778481117315444840.post-70058379771964888772008-12-12T13:10:00.000+08:002008-12-12T13:10:00.000+08:00HiI linked up your blog to my last article:http://...Hi
I linked up your blog to my last article:
http://supreme.ph/2008/12/08/the-christmas-mystery-the-reproductive-health-bill/

Chees!jvincentsonghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01534601156168410165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-778481117315444840.post-47571412304180734692008-12-10T16:08:00.000+08:002008-12-10T16:08:00.000+08:00I think people who opose the bill are just ignoran...I think people who opose the bill are just ignorant of whats happening to our country, grabe ang poverty, ang hunger, I mean, if only the mothers were informed, they wont have 9 or 10 children starving everyday.

Plus, the church has to face the fact that times have changed, wala na si maria clara, people want sex, for sex, it may not be right, pero its true, and its happening today, and we as a nation have to deal with it.

...opinion langAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07889025111882382740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-778481117315444840.post-90014062857902942052008-12-04T11:31:00.000+08:002008-12-04T11:31:00.000+08:00ekene: that only means you have not seen enough of...ekene: that only means you have not seen enough of the philippines to appreciate the much bigger damage that people are enduring now and how much worst it will be if this bill is not passed in the philippines.

the phil government right now is misleading women and preventing them from getting all the information necessary for them to make an informed choice about their body and reproductive health.

the philippine president used the pill when she was of reproductive age and yet now, she is preventing all other women who are of reprodcutive age the same thing she used to enjoy and benefit from.

based on national surveys, a significant 71% of catholics support this RH Bill and what it passed.

please find out more about the philippines so you can appreciate the value of this bill and so that you are fully informed.wawamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10959659301781204225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-778481117315444840.post-35124277044166562792008-11-20T01:32:00.000+08:002008-11-20T01:32:00.000+08:00Van-Houten: its is impressive how misguided and po...Van-Houten: its is impressive how misguided and politically biased you can be. As a women from the developing world I have seen the damage these bills that supposedly help us have caused. By abandoning women with their "right" to abort governments and the international community have managed to turn a blind eye to the real problems we face of lack of clean water, education and access to real primary health.
Fortunately in my part of the world there has been an honest president, who is a french educated doctor, to defend us and call atention to our real needs which addressed would truly bring about our improvement in life and defense of our rights.M.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06776465084224297209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-778481117315444840.post-82736616208939766162008-11-19T23:43:00.000+08:002008-11-19T23:43:00.000+08:00Congratulations Mr Tatad.
